Dr. Keith Curry, Pastor
Dr. Keith Curry is a native of Lexington, North Carolina and is the proud pastor of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, China Grove, NC.
Dr. Curry is a proven pastor and denominational leader who leads with a commitment to Christ and builds ministry around transforming lives of people through an anointed message of the gospel. The aim is to promote liberation, empowerment, deliverance, and social justice. Dr. Curry has led many to Christ through the preached word and the implementation of policies that demonstrate forgiveness and spiritual renewal.
Dr. Curry is a graduate of A&T State University, Greensboro, North Carolina, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He later attended Hood Theological Seminary and earned a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Christian Education. Dr. Curry graduated from United Theological Seminary and was conferred the Doctor of Ministry degree. A passion and desire to teach in the school system led Dr. Curry to earn a Master of Education degree. He is certified by the state of North Carolina to teach special education across categories and all high school science courses including advanced placement classes.
Dr. Curry has received numerous awards as a Christian, Student, and community leader. He was elected student government president during his senior year at Hood Theological Seminary. During senior convocation he received the Faculty award for academic excellence and for making the most outstanding contribution to the life of the seminary. He serves the Hood Theological Seminary community today as a member of the President’s Advisory Council.
Dr. Curry has been active and served on several boards. These include the Center of Hope a non-profit that served the needs of children in the community, Thomasville Memorial Hospital, Strategic Planning City of Lexington, served as president of the Lexington Chapter of the NAACP, served as a writer of Sunday school, Baptist Training Union, and Vacation Bible School materials for R. H. Boyd Publishing Corporation located in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Curry is a faculty member of the National Baptist Sunday School Convention.
Dr. Curry is a member of the China Grove Coalition of Clergy, Rowan Baptist Association, North Carolina General Baptist State Convention, and National Baptist Congress of Christian Education. Dr. Curry is also a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
Above all his accomplishments the love for pastoring, teaching, preaching, and missions remain first in Dr. Curry’s heart.
Dr. Curry is married to Tammy Brown Curry. They are the proud parents of three adult sons and seven grandchildren.
